A thunderous strike by 'The Lion of Muthurwa' Victor Wanyama in the 80th minute and Harry Kane's stoppage-time goal denied Liverpool all the three points at Anfield on Sunday, February 4 in a four-goal thriller that saw the two sides bag a point each.
Liverpool star forward Mohamed Salah opened the scoring for the hosts within three minutes of gameplay, capitalising on an early slip up from Spurs.
The two teams went into half-time with Liverpool the better side, having dominated the better part of the first half.
However, Spurs settled into the game upon the resumption of the second half, managing to create a few chances.
Wanyama, who came on as a substitute in the 79th minute managed to restore parity for the visitors a minute later, scoring a screamer from 25 yards.
Mo Salah handed the Reds the lead again at stoppage time, lifting the ball over Lloris from the penalty area.
Liverpool's lead was, however, short-lived with Harry Kane equalizing seconds later from the penalty spot after a clumsy challenge on Erik Lamela in the box.
This was the tie's second penalty after Kane had his earlier one saved when Lovren handled the ball in the box.
Both teams came into the match in relatively high spirits as the race for a top-four finish shapes up.
Spurs headed to Anfield full of confidence after a comprehensive 2-0 win over Manchester United at Wembley in mid-week.
The Reds were looking to revenge against the North London side after their heavy defeat to Spurs in the first leg.
Jurgen Klopp's side is still third in the standings with 51 points, a point more than Chelsea who still have a game to play.
Spurs are fifth with 49 points.
