Governor Evans Kidero on Friday launched the first youth night market in the country at Mama Ngina Street, Nairobi County.
The launch was in collaboration with The Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs, the Youth Agenda through the support of Ford Foundation.
The open-air market event attracted over 150 youth entrepreneurs.
The youth brought out the best fusion of shopping, mostly youth businesses, selling merchandise such as clothes, shoes, cosmetics, food, drinks, sports and fitness, electronics, arts, books, fashion, kitchen ware, décor and kids toys among others.
Nairobi Youth Night Market is a project that is aimed at promoting a 24 hour economy in the county, powered by the strength of youth entrepreneurs.
Youth night market is ongoing and will end on Sunday, March 27 midnight.
To facilitate the youth night market, Mama Ngina Street and adjacent streets have been closed.
