The Nakuru Hawkers Association chairman Simon Nasieku has appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to help tame the re-emergence of Mungiki in Nakuru town.

In a WhatsApp message to Nakuru politics group, Nasieku insisted it’s only the President who can save Nakuru from the outlawed sect.

‘’The local authorities have proven they can’t tame the gang which is now harassing hawkers and business people within Nakuru town. We wanted Uhuru during his visit to address the issue, though as an association we shall find a way on how we can reach the President for assistance," said Nasieku.

President Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto were on a two-day visit of Nakuru County last week when Naiseku made the appeal.
