[Photo|NMG]As the once giant retailer Nakumatt continues to struggle, Naivas has occupied its space along Moi Avenue in Nairobi.Naivas took over the space, after workers from Dominion Signs Limited were spotted removing Nakumatt signs from the building on Thursday.Naivas Moi Avenue outlet is however yet to be officially opened.Nakumatt Moi Avenue was the second last branch the retailer held in the CBD. Nakumatt City Hall is the only remaining CBD branch.Nakumatt which has been falling in both Kenya Uganda and Tanzania, is said to be owing its landlords more than Sh600 million rent arrears.The family-owned Naivas which has been raising so fast recently lost its bid to take over Nakumatt’s space at Thika Road Mall (TRM) to the newly established Dubai-owned Carrefour supermarkets.
