Naivas Supermarket has announced that they will be opening a new branch along Nairobi's Moi Avenue on November 15.The space set to be taken up by the retailer chain was previously housed by Barclays Bank of Kenya.According to reports Barclays exited Bank House on October 1 as part of a move to restructure seven branches and move operations to nearby outlets.“This is a prime location for Naivas. We expect the store to perform really well since the area has significant footfall. This upper part of town is currently largely underserved.” said Naivas chief operating officer Willy Kimani.Navias has also shown interest in opening stores in Utawala, Kericho, Kitengela, Mountain View (Waiyaki Way) and Mombasa. However they have closed their Githunguri branch along with their branch on Nairobi’s Ronald Ngala Street.“The two branches were not breaking even and the decision was made early to close them and shift our efforts to other promising locations.“At Ronald Ngala, for instance, we had two branches close to each other. We had to close one.”
