Speaking in Naivasha town on Wednesday, Njoroge observed that insecurity cases are still being experienced in some parts of the sub-county.

He cited parts of Moi South Lake Road, Maai Mahiu and Naivasha town as areas rife with criminal activities.

The chairperson warned that lack of security will slow down development and keep away investors.

“We want to ask the county government to increase surveillance and ensure Naivasha residents and business people are safe. Security is necessary for realisation of development and every Kenyan has a right to it,” he said.

He however stated that they are ready and willing to work with the sub-county administration to boost security.

Area OCPD Charles Kortok however stated that police are working around the clock to ensure safety of residents.

He called on locals to work with the police by providing information that will help nail criminals. He said security is the responsibility of every citizen and adopting Nyumba Kumi initiative will be key in the fight against crime.
