The 12th edition of the Naivasha Horticultural Fair is scheduled to take place from September 19-20 this year at the Naivasha Sports Club. The event, which has over the years gained reputation as the best and biggest trade fair of its kind in the continent, is set to come to life once again. It is registered as a charity event and is usually aimed at assisting the needy, including schools and hospitals. “It has proved to be a very successful exhibition for companies selling anything from motor vehicles to financial services and from alternative energy sources to communications solutions,” said Richard McGonnell, the event chairman. The chair said the organising committee is currently working on the programme and that they are anticipating an even better event than previous ones. The funds collected from the fair support local charities like the Naivasha Safe House, Karagita Maternity Hospital, the Red Cross and KSPCA. Other organisations funded include Naivasha Street Children Centre, the Aga Khan Patient Welfare Programme and various support groups for Aids patients, charities for the disabled among others.
