Services at the Naivasha sub-county lands registry have been closed to the public for two weeks from to allow for the reorganization of records.

The Principal Economist Ministry of Land, Housing and Urban Development Julius Mureiithi, who is leading the team, said the reorganization is aimed at ensuring that each plot/parcel of land has an individual file that contains all correspondences pertaining to the specific plot/parcel of land.

He said that the exercise has never been carried out in Naivasha, adding that after the reorganization, members of public will be able to access efficient and effective service delivery.

Mureithi, who addressed the press in Naivasha’s lands registry offices added that the next step after reorganization of the files will be to digitize the records as a way of sealing all loopholes.

He said the reorganization of all records at the land registry in Naivasha will henceforth address the challenge of delay in service delivery resulting from access, retrieval and storage of files of various parcels of land.

“Complaints over delay in service delivery; especially processing of searches and transfers that have been witnessed before because of jumbled records will be a thing of the past.

“The reorganization will also enable us establish the number of missing files besides replacing/repairing those that are torn/worn out,” he said.

He added that new racks had been brought to the store, and are now well arranged and properly labeled files of individual parcels of land.

He called for patience from members of public during this period that the exercise will in the end enable them get better services.
