A middle-aged man killed himself in Naivasha  Monday over family 'stress'.

The deceased is said to have told his children to fill a drum with water before he locked them outside and jumped into the drum.

Witnesses said the man parted ways with his wife who sued him.

He was then ordered by the children department to be paying a monthly fee of Sh1500 a month for the child's upkeep.

This, neighbours said, 'stressed' him driving him into suicide.

Area chief Stephen Njuguna confirmed the incident.

The body was taken to Naivasha sub-county hospital mortuary
