Addressing the press at Naivasha town on Tuesday, the MCA said that the constitution has empowered women, youths and people with disabilities.

He said that development will not be realised if young people, women and disabled persons are locked out.

“Women, youths and persons living with disabilities should come out and work with us,” he said.

The MCA said the government has set aside money meant to empower the marginalised groups.

Warothe said that time when women and disabled persons were silenced and denied access to development and policy making is over.

He said that the constitution provides for the rights and welfare of women, youths and people with disabilities.

Warothe said that the existence of Uwezo Fund is a clear indication that the government values the welfare of these groups.

He urged them to apply for the funds and start business enterprises that will better their socio-economic lives.

He added that the move by the government to set aside 30% of all tenders to youth and disabled persons is shows the government's commitment to better their lives.
