Speaking during a clean-up exercise at Naivasha town, the MCA said that youths should be on the frontline in championing a clean environment.

He noted that youths have time that should use to serve the society instead of engaging in unacceptable activities like crime.

The MCA observed championing a clean environment should be the responsibility of every person in the society.

Wanyoike asked the county government to put in place policies that ensure environment and sanitation standards are improved.

“My appeal is to the youths to come out and be ambassadors of a clean environment,” he said.

The MCA urged the county leadership to move with haste and relocate the Naivasha dumpsite. He indicated that the dumpsite is a health hazard to residents and that it would be a disaster it something is not done urgently.

He added that the dumpsite has turned out to be hiding den for criminals who rob and mug residents even during day broad light.

Wanyoike at the same time called on the county assembly to initiate and pass laws that will promote environmental conservation.
