Longonot residents in Naivasha sub-county were on Friday morning shocked to see a lifeless body of a night guard who was ran over by a trailer.According to area residents the middle-aged man had sought shelter under a trailer in Longonot trading center.
He was killed on the spot.
According to eye witness,the deceased was manning several trucks when he met his unfournate death.
The witness said that he appeared drunk before he sought shelter between the tyres of the trailer.
“He slept there for some time and when the driver came to proceed with the journey he never checked at the back and ran him over as he left,” he said.Efforts to shout to the driver to stop for the guard to be awakened fell on deaf ears killing him on the spot.The driver later stopped at Mai Mahiu after being alerted over the incident involving his truck.He recorded a statement with the police before proceeding with his journey.Area residents said that it was common for guards to sleep in such areas during cold weather. The body was later collected and taken to the Naivasha sub-county hospital mortuary.
