The immigrants, who were in a Dayer Express bus, are said to have been stranded after their bus was intercepted by auctioneers with the driver fleeing.

Naivasha police boss Titus Munyoki said officers on patrol acted on time after receiving a tip off from attendants from local petrol station where the immigrants were abandoned after the auctioneers towed the bus.

"Officers managed to arrest more than 30 immigrants among them Somali and Sudanese nationals a majority who can hardly communicate either in English or Kiswahili," he said.

"Some of them don't have any legal documents proving their legality to be in the country which makes us question the motive behind the journey," he added.

They are being held at the Naivasha police post as the search for the driver who is on the run intensify.
