A wanted drug peddler in Karagita estate, Naivasha has been nabbed by the police following a tip off from the public.
During the exercise conducted and led by the Naivasha police boss Robert Maingi on Thursday, the police also seized about 100 rolls of bhang from the suspect’s hideout.
Speaking after the operation, Maingi reported that the suspect had for some time evaded police traps every time they tried to catch him in the act.
“Our efforts have at last borne fruits after the law caught up with this suspect. We have been pursuing him for a month following concerns raised by the public over rampant trade of illegal drugs in Naivasha,” Maingi said.
He put on notice other members of public in the same trade, saying that it will not be long before they caught up with them.
“Let us not engage in illegal activities in bid to justify joblessness in the region. There are so many other activities we can do to earn a living instead of destroying other people’s lives with drugs,” he added.
The suspect is held at the Naivasha police station awaiting to be arraigned in courts upon completion of investigations into the matter.
