Naivasha Professionals Association (NAP) has raised concerns over the alleged mismanagement of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Kitty in the Constituency.
The Association under the Chairmanship of Absalom Mukusi alleges that CDF is being mismanagement by the area Member of Parliament John Kihagi.
Speaking to Journalists at a local hotel on Friday, the Association claims that MP Kihagi has failed to oversee proper management of the Funds further alleging that the MP has employed people he knows to manage the funds.
“We have written to several government agencies including the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) raising concerns over CDF mismanagement, the EACC must investigate and bring the truth out,” said Mukusi.
Chairperson Mukusi added that they have evidence to support their claims adding that most projects in Naivasha have stalled.
“Some of the development projects started by the CDF Committees have stalled due to poor management and misappropriation of funds,” alleged Mukusi.
The Association now wants the MP Kihagi to come out and explain why many projects, some started two years ago, have stalled.
They claimed that Naivasha Constituency lags behind in terms of development as a result of mismanagement and misappropriation of funds meant for development in the area.
Responding to the allegations, MP Kihagi dismissed them terming them as baseless and allegations meant to tarnish his name.
The MP asked anyone with information to provide it in Court instead of spreading rumours which he says could cause tension for no apparent reason.
The MP added that all projects commissioners in the Constituency under CDF are above board.
