Residents of Longonot town in Naivasha sub-county are living in fears  after they woke up to gory bodies exhumed from a nearby cemetery.

It is suspected wild animals from Longonot National Park stormed a nearby cemetery and exhumed the bodies.

According to residents, the bodies were disposed by Naivasha sub-county referral hospital mortuary last week.

The hospital decided to dispose the 19 bodies in the cemetery after relatives failed to collect.

Area MCA Samuel Waithuki, accused the hospital of disposing the bodies in a shallow graves.

“We understand that uncollected bodies have to be disposed  but we are concerned over the manner the exercise was carried out,” he said.

“The wild animals carried away part of the bodies some of which were spotted near homesteads and we are calling on the county government to relocate this cemetery,” An elder, Paul Kinami said.
