Residents of Naivasha are now calling on the government to freeze the area Constituency Development Fund (CDF) accounts, over alleged misappropriation of funds.
The traders, political, religious and youth leaders called on auditors to scrutinize the constituency accounts, saying many projects in the areas were questionable.
During a press conference in Naivasha, the group lashed out at area MP John Kihagi, accusing him of a one man-show in running the area CDF office.
Lake View Ward Member of County Assembly Simon Wanango was the first to fire the salvo, noting that various projects, including the Kihoto drainage and County Council light mast were marred with controversy.
He said that Kihagi had failed to include MCA’s in the running of the CDF, adding that it was time the current committee was disbanded and auditors sent in.
Wanyoike, who is also the Nakuru County Implementation Committee Chairman, said that many of the projects in the constituency were sub-standard.
The Imam Jamia Mosque, Adam Ali said that they were not surprised when the constituency was always ranked among the poorest performing in the country.
