Residents of Moi Ndabi in Naivasha have raised alarm over rising cases of livestock theft in the area.

The latest incident occurred on Sunday night when armed cattle rustlers raided the village and stole 31 sheep.

A resident, Tom Kamau said police and residents managed to catch up with the suspects and recovered 26 sheep.

Naivasha deputy county commissioner Isaac Masinde confirmed the incident and assured locals that police will intensify patrols to arrest culprits.

“We will beef up security but we suspect some locals are colluding with the thieves to steal livestock from the village. Members of the public should provide information to police to help in arresting suspects,” said Masinde.
