The sub county deputy commissioner, Silvano Mutembei,  said that locals must embrace Nyumba Kumi to help fight crime.

Briefing the press in his office on Friday, Mutembei said that Nyumba Kumi will help address insecurity.

“My appeal to Naivasha residents is to embrace Nyumba Kumi and other security measures to fight crime,” said Mutembei.

Mutembei said police in Naivasha are committed to fight crime but called on the public to support them.

He observed that security officers can improve on their work if they get public support.

“Naivasha locals should create a partnership with law enforcers to completely eradicate crime,” urged Mutembei.

Mutembei asserted that security is a responsibility of every Kenyan and that we (Kenyans) must join hands in the fight against insecurity.

The deputy sub county commissioner said they have organized a series of campaigns to educate public on Nyumba Kumi initiative.

He called on local chiefs to take security issues seriously and liaise with other sub county officials as they plan on how to wipe out criminals.

The deputy commissioner revealed that statistics show that crime has gone down in the sub county but said they will continue with their surveillance.

He warned criminal gangs saying their days are numbered if they will not surrender.

“We are going to hunt the criminals down to their dens,” noted Mutembei.
