Geoffrey Matheri, popularly knows as Naivasha vampire, was on Monday charged before a Nakuru court for loitering with the intent of committing a crime.
Matheri was released on a Sh2,000 cash bail.
Matheri hit the headlines after he was busted with several women who he kidnapped and held hostage in his shack in a Naivasha slum.
A rotting body was also found buried under his bead. He later claimed a Naivasha-based pastor had given him powers to lure and kill his victims after which he would take their blood to the pastor.
A victim who was rescued said he used to bite his victims and then draw blood from them.
The case will be mentioned on October 27.
