Addressing the press after hosting a delegation from the county government on Friday, the company managing director, Joseph Theuri, said that services are being hampered due to inadequate funds.

He said that the company is owed over Sh70 million by state agencies which have now been devolved to the county government.

“We are facing a financial crisis that has hampered our service delivery to the people,” he said.

The MD appealed to Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to urgently intervene, saying services at the company could be grounded if something is not done.

He asked the county government to foot some of the debts to ensure survival of the company.

Theuri also complained of high cost of electricity, saying that they owe Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) over Sh4 million.

He further appealed to the national government to come in and help settle some of the company debts so that locals can continue to get services without interruption.

Meanwhile, the MD warned illegal water connectors saying they will arrested and charged in court.

He said that the company is losing billions as a result of illegal water connections annually, the money he said could be channeled to other development.

Theuri said that they are conducting inspection of all water connection points in the sub-county and that those caught engaging in illegal collections will be dealt with according to the law.
