The youths claim that the sub-county government has sidelined them and is instead working with outsiders on matters development.

They have further accused the administration of exercising discrimination when awarding manual jobs.

Speaking to our reporter when they staged a demonstration over awarding of manual jobs to outsiders in the area, the area youth leader Mathew Kimilu claimed that they continue to languish in unemployment yet the sub-county is allocating job opportunities to outsiders.

“Our sub-county administration has completely neglected us, we are not involved in development,” said Kimilu.

The youths said that they should be given first priority when it comes to manual jobs and other opportunities, threatening to petition their case to the county Governor Kinuthia Mbugua.

Kimilu cited an ongoing road construction project in the area where they were denied job opportunities, adding that the contractor came with his own workers who are not from Naivasha.

They threatened to block the construction of the road until when their concerns are addressed.
