A section of young people in Naivasha are demanding for money allocated to them for talent development.
The youths claims that the county had allocated Sh500,000 to each constituency to help them in sporting activities.
Kevin Muthiani a Nakuru resident, says that it is unfortunate that youths are yet to be told on where about the money.
"It is unfortunate that such money is allocated to the youths to develop their skills in arts and culture. Some of us are very talented but there is no one to support us to move to the next level,” says Muthiani.
He added that the area was rich in theatre performance and singing yet they could not make a living out of it.
Joseph Maina says that MCAs who were trusted with the money can not account how it was used.
"They have been allocated the cash but unfortunately youths are yet to benefit from it,” notes Muthiani.
For now the youths are writing a petition to the county government urging it order the MCAs to release the money to the beneficiaries.
Austin Macharia says that it is a shame that there is such money yet youth groups are invited in different areas to perform but they can not fund their travel.
"In most cases we are forced to cancel our travel since we cannot afford transport to the area," said Macharia.
