Residents of Naka estate have condemned a move by a private developer to construct a perimeter wall around a public land in the area.
Addressing media after stoping the move, the residents under Naka Residents Association, said the one acre land was meant for a social hall and a church.
Led by JuliusKariuki, they vowed not to allow any developer to grab the land.
“We will not allow land grabbing in this area. We are telling the private developer that if the land was sold to him by anyone, let him rush and be given his money by the same person before it is late,” said Kariuki.
Naka Residents Association chairman Joseph Karu said the issue of the land was resolved by security agencies.
“We are surprised that this can happen when we are not around and the matter was solved at the land commissioner’s office,” he said.
