Police in Mombasa have arrested five people following Wednesday’s drama where two suspected thieves stripped naked after allegedly stealing a vehicle.Initial reports indicated that the two had been attacked by ‘evil spirits’.Kisauni OCPD Christopher Rotich who confirmed the arrest said police have arrested two Ugandan witch doctors and the two men who posed as thieves.Rotich said that a woman, who is said to be the owner of the stolen vehicle, is also in police custody and will assist in investigations. The five, who are in police custody at Bamburi Police Station, are believed to have choreographed the drama in a bid to promote the witch doctors in an attempt to defraud Kenyans.Rotich further said the witch doctors will be charged with being in possession of a snake without a licence from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).“Investigations into the incident are ongoing and the suspects will be arraigned in court. The whole incident was choreographed to advertise a sorcery business,” said the OCPD.The drama unfolded after the suspected thieves stopped the car outside a clinic in Bamburi, got out, undressed and started bathing in a nearby pool of muddy water. The two later on picked up a snake and started dancing with it as they took turns carrying it around their necks.
