If you thought weird court cases are only possible in Vioja Mahakamani then you need to unlearn that.

Take a look at the following weird cases:

1. Woman who called another ‘a prostitute witch’ over Raila Odinga

There was a warrant of arrest issued in Nairobi against a businesswoman who allegedly called a colleague ‘a prostitute witch’. This was after NASA leader Raila Odinga withdrew from the October 26 repeat presidential elections.

Court heard that Nancy Awuor Otieno insulted Elizabeth Wanjiru Kihengo at Nairobi CBD's Cianda Market where both operate businesses.

2. Billionaire accused of petty theft

There was another case of businessman Ramesh Chandara Govind who was accused of stealing phones. Chandara is the billionaire owner of Taj Mall in Embakasi and was a Nairobi senatorial aspirant in the August 8 elections.

In July this year, he was accused of stealing two Motorola phones worth Sh55, 520 - both property of Land Force Security Company.

He was released on a Sh30,000 cash bail pending case mentioning on January 23.

3. Naked 'witch' of Donholm

A Donholm businesswoman was in December charged with practising witchcraft against her business competitors.

Court heard that Everlyne Wambua with others not before court was busted around midnight while naked and performing witchcraft in front of her colleague’s hotel.

She denied the charges and was released on Sh30,000 cash bail pending the trial that begins on March 21.

4. Woman who hugged a soldier and stole

A sex worker was jailed after she pleaded guilty to hugging and then stealing from a military officer.

Court heard that Teresia Wanjiru Mwangi stole from Thomas Muhia Mwangi after she hugged him along River Road on May 14. She made away with the latter's mobile phone worth Sh19, 500 and wallet with Sh5,000.

5. Female police impostor

She pretended to be a police inspector before she was busted at the GSU headquarters in Nairobi as she enjoyed a cold beer. 

Rose Wangeci Kamau was nabbed on August 31 after suspicion that she was an impostor in the police.

While dressed in Administration Police uniform, Wangeci went to the GSU canteen and ordered a beer, something that betrayed her because cops don’t drink in uniform.  

She was set free on a surety bond of Sh250,000 after pleading innocent.

6. Sh8 million donkey skin

A businesswoman was arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts for allegedly obtaining over Sh8 million in exchange for donkey skins.

Ms Moseti Obwongi was accused of defrauding Katharisan Naidu Subramanian of the money on diverse dates between January 5 and January 17, 2017 at Nairobi's Kilimani.
