Nakumatt FC has insisted that Harambee Stars striker Kepha Aswani is still their player.

This is despite Sofapaka FC claiming that they have secured the signature of the striker from Nakumatt.

The forward scored 13 league goals for the shoppers in the 2917 season to emerge among their best players of the season.

He was recently unveiled as part of Sofapaka's new acquisitions together with former Ulinzi man Stephen Waruru but Nakumatt's secretary Albert Wesonga now claims that he is still within their fold.

He said Sofapaka have not made any official request for Aswani.

"Aswani is still our player. He has a contract and no club has contacted us for his services. If Sofapaka were interested in him then they should have talked to us because it's illegal to parade a player from another club as your new signing yet you have not engaged his club in transfer talks," he said.

"The law is very clear about the transfer of a contracted player from one club to the other and we will take the necessary action," he added.
