Kenya's struggling supermarket Nakumatt has closed down its Thika Road Mall (TRM) branch.

This comes barely a month after the leading Kenyan retailers closed their NextGen Mall along Mombasa Road following a spate of poor returns and an accumulating debt.

Nakumatt however said that the TRM closure was temporary to allow for stock-taking.

“The branch will be temporarily closed due to a stock-taking exercise,” the management said.

“We thank you for your patronage and apologise for any inconvenience caused,” they added.
