Followingeight years after the tragic Nakumatt Downtown fire that took the lives of 29people the case is yet to be concluded.
Among the 29who lost their lives included five Nakumatt staff in the fire which is said tohave been caused after gas cylinders exploded.
On Monday, thecourt pushed forward the inquest to December 8.
According toreports, Nakumatt lawyer M Musyoki failed to appear in court thus forcing Milimani chief magistrate Francis Andayi to postponethe case.
Musyoki issaid to have been handling another urgent matter and as a result could notattend the court session.
Senior state counsel Solomon Naulikha, theinvestigating officer EmmanuelNg'etich who was in charge of the case had managed to gather threewitnesses.
Danson Kimathi, a senior officer from theelectrical engineering department in the former Ministry of Public Workssubmitted a report and said the fire could have been a result of fuel vapours or gas coming in contact with thehot exhaust pipe of the generator, or sparks from contact during a change fromDC to AC.
