In a statement seen by the Business Daily, National social Security Fund (NSSF) who own the premises through its Communications and Public Relations Manager Christopher Khisa ordered for the closure of the branch and seizure of its properties in order to recover rent arrears.

“Tysons Limited, who manage our property will ensure we seize everything that belongs to Nakumatt for recovery of our money,” Khisa said.

In addition, he said that they were forced to look for court intervention in to the matter after the retailer failed to pay rent for several months and said that the seizure process is the only option left.

"That is the next process and no one will be allowed to enter the premises until the issue is fully addressed,” Khisa said.

The retailer has been faced with many woes, the latest one being the withdrawal of the law firm that has been representing them in a liquidation case citing unpaid dues.
