Following their losing of a petition to appoint a receiver manager, Nakumatt has suffered another major blow after lawyers representing them withdrew their services.

The lawyers cited being ignored by the retail chain as the reason for pulling out.

The law firm Iseme Kamau and Maema Advocates withdrew from all Nakumatt cases saying their (Nakumatt) lack of cooperation was stalling progress in the cases where they were representing the retailer.

“Material differences on how to handle matters relating to the company have arisen between the firm and the company,” said Diana Ogula, who was representing the law firm, in an affidavit.

The law firm has been defending Nakumatt against a dissolution case that was filed by Africa Cotton and Gold Crown Beverages over unpaid debts.
