The downpour which started at 5pm to around 8pm saw traffic build up in most roads in the City.

Photos of the flooded store circulating on social media showed items such as detergents, toiletries and diapers, among others, floating on the waters.

Nakumatt’s management is yet to quantify the damage caused by the floods.

The Kenya Meteorological Department had warned of heavy rains across the country from April to June.
