Nineteen people became victim to a grisly road accident that occurred yesterday night after a bus collided with a lorry on the Nairobi – Nakuru highway.
Although there were no fatalities five people were rushed to the Kenyatta Hospital in critical condition while 14 were taken to Lari sub – county hospital. The accident occurred barely ten hours after three vehicles collided on the same location.
The bus which belongs to Buscar Company was en route to Nairobi from Bungoma when it collided with the lorry.
Speculations into the incident have concluded that fog which is very dense in the morning and at night, might have hugely contributed to the accident occurring.
The area, which is a high risk area because of the fog has caused a number of accidents in the past. Drivers have therefore been advised to be vigilant or avoid travelling altogether until the fog clears.
Records from the traffic police have also revealed that majority of the accidents that have occurred around the area have occurred due to thick fog.
