An activist in Nakuru has threatened to rally locals to protest against alleged run-away graft in the county.
Machuka Masese said he was mulling over leading the residents in a mass action to protest over glaring corruption currently being witnessed in the county government.
Masese accused governor Kinuthia Mbugua of doing nothing to save the county from continuously losing funds to corrupt leaders.
"We won't sit here and watch our money being looted recklessly. We will rally the locals to protest," he swore.
Last Tuesday, civil society activists in the county marched to the county government headquarters seeking audience with the governor.
Their endeavours were however fruitless as the governor was not around.
They gave an ultimatum to the governor to ensure he attends a meeting that they would soon convene regarding the thorny issue.
Masese claimed that there were massive irregularities in the procurement department and that MCAs were colluding with top county officials to approve needless trips.
He warned that activities in the county would all grind to a halt if the outright graft was not stopped.
