Two Nakuru activists are living in fears after they were allegedly threatened by area MP on social media over their move to demand the sacking of county secretary Joseph Motari.
This is after the Nakuru county assembly ad hoc committee recommended the sacking.
Addressing media jointly in Nakuru on Monday the Nakuru activisits, Hezron Manyara and Nakuru Hawkers Association Chair Simon Nasieku claimed they have received threats from Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama over their continued push for the implementation of the Ad hoc Committee report.
They claimed through the social whatsapp group Nakuru King Makers, the legislator allegedly insulted them with an attempt to stop them from any palns for demonstrations.
“The writings are clear on the Nakuru King Makers whatsapp group and all members in the group saw what the MP wrote insulting me and the chairman of the Hawkers in Nakuru. Such threats from leaders should be addressed with immediate effect and we call upon the police to come in and investigate the legislator”said Manyara.
Manyara said such threats should not be ignored.
“We should not take this threats lightly as this might lead to a serious issue,”he said.
“My appeal to the Governmnet is to step in and investigate the threats we have been receiving from a section of politicians a recent case being Honourable Arama. Action should be taken now,” Nasieku said.
Efforts to reach Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama over the allegations were futile.
