An administration Police has been charged with multiple counts of robbery and rape at the Nyahururu law courts.
Police Constable David Kimani Kuria attached to Bahati police post in Nakuru County, denied to charges of violently robbing Mr. and Mrs. Wanjohi of their valuables.
Kimani was charged that on the night of July 27, this year while armed with an AK47 riffle and in the company of others not before court, robbed the couple Sh45, 000 and their two phones valued at Sh17, 000.
He also denied the charges of raping the woman or indecently acting towards her at the couples home in Kabazi, Subukia sub-county.
An officer who will later testify at the court noted that the man had died after the accused shot him.
His lawyer Michael Mbugua told the court he would attend court when called upon to as he was a police officer who understood his obligations as an accused person.
Senior Resident Magistrate Ocharo Momanyi ordered the accused to secure a Sh1 million for his release.
The case will be mentioned on August 18, when a hearing date will be set
