For enthusiasts of rhymes, spoken word, sound music and the countless charms of literary masterpiece, Nakuru's upgrade poetry will on Sunday host the Deathly Liberation, a themed fete to as part of Easter celebrations.

According to the organisers, the event set to run from 2-6pm at Legacy Hotel and Suites seeks to spice up the Easter holiday by bringing on board a blend of poets, writers, spoken word artists and acoustic as well as acapella musicians drawn from Nakuru town who will entertain the audience through their skills in a creative feat.

The Nakuru Art Group was founded by college students, Simon Njaria and Wilson Uba of ACK Cathedral as a youth initiative based at the church centre later diversified and today attracts county attention, eventually hosting monthly themed events. 

Amongst other gigs is the Street Poetry Nakuru.

The success of the art group has seen the rise of a number of artists such as GuFy Dox, Kelvin, Kaesa Pudo's Pudo, Kevin Vincent, Mbunge Aliyeparara, Nduati Murigi alongside Faith Shiki. Since then the group has developed a county image.

Simon Njaria, a media graduate from Nakuru's St Paul's University, who is the co-founder says they aim at "sharing art through spoken word poetry and music with the society".

Advance tickets go for Sh150 while its Sh250 at the gate.
