Bahati Constituency aspirant on independent ticket John Mbugua Honest has commended the IEBC tribunal for quashing off a case filed against him by his opponent for using President Uhuru Kenyatta’s photos on his campaign materials.

This comes barely a day after the IEBC tribunal quashed off a case filed by Bahati MP Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri against him (Honest).

Speaking Friday in Lanet Umoja 2 during his campaign trail, John Mbugua Honest stated that indeed it was not wrong for him to use the president’s photo in his campaign despite being an independent candidate.

“We are celebrating for the decision taken by IEBC tribunal to quash off the case that was filed against me.I am independent candidate but I do support the President for he is for all” he said.

Meanwhile, Mbugua donated an ambulance that will be used to serve women in Umoja 2, Lanet areas of Bahati Constituency while promising to deliver same to all the other wards in Bahati constituency.

The politician was categorical that once elected he will ensure matters of health and education are given priority in Bahati.

“This ambulance you see here is part of my donation to Lanet, Umoja 2 area to ensure that women are well taken care off. When they make a call they will receive its services 24/7.I will also ensure that similar ambulances are delivered in all the wards” he said.

While calling on politicians to maintain peace, Mbugua who at one particular time felt in a conflict with incumbent MP Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri during a radio show was categorical that peace was paramount for development.

He assured the people of Bahati that the water challenge that has been felt in the area for a long time shall be dealt with upon his election.

With three days remaining for the August 8th polls, he called on residents of Bahati constituency to ensure peace warning them not to flee as the constitution was very clear that every Kenyan has a right to live anywhere.

“Let no one flee fearing that there will be chaos in Bahati…no no.In Bahati we are peaceful and everyone is allowed to stay here as per the constitution” he said.

Mbugua visited various parts of Bahati constituency urging residents to come out in large numbers and vote come Tuesday 8th August.

Politicians have until Saturday to campaign according to IEBC regulations and guidelines.
