A preliminary report by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission has identified 19 counties which risk experiencing violence in the 2017 general election.
Nakuru County has been listed among the counties likely to be marred with pre and post-election violence.
Other counties include Uasin Gishu (Eldorte), Narok, Kericho, Kisii, Homa Bay, Isiolo, Turkana, Bungoma, Kiambu, Kilifi, Lamu, Migori, Baringo and Pokot.
However, NCIC chair Francis ole Kaparo says the commission is putting measures in place among them civic education on the need to maintain peace to ensure no violence hits any part of the country.
Nakuru was hard hit by post-election skirmishes and was one of the 2007 post-election hot spots which left hundreds dead and thousands others displaced.
