Nakuru County Commissioner Mohamed Birik has cautioned bar operators in the county against allowing under-age children to access their premises.
The commissioner stated that many bar operators are giving access to under-age children; a move he said is against the law.
He added that only individuals above 18 years are allowed to bars and other entertainment joints, warning that any under-age person found in a club or a bar will be arrested
“We want to caution bar operators and other entertainment joints against allowing under-age children in their premises,” he said.
Meanwhile, Birik has asked owners of entertainment joints and hotels to keep record of their customers, to enable track them in case any security matter arose.
Birik indicated that security apparatus will remain vigilant to ensure security of residents as the year comes to an end, further urging locals to exercise peace as they wait to usher in the New Year, 2015.
The county commissioner further warned that no person found contravening the law will be spared, adding that security officers have been directed to arrest lawbreakers.
