The Nakuru County assembly on Tuesday commenced vetting County Executive Committee members (CECs) .

This is even as the High court termed ‘premature’ a case that had been filed by Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama who argued that the list was not inclusive.

Those lined up for vetting as from Tuesday are Engineer Lucy Wanjiku Kariuki(CEC for Lands, Housing and Physical planning), Mr Lawrence Mwangangi Mwania (CEC for Public Service Training and Devolution), Engineer Joseph Irungu Mburu(Infrastructure), Dr Immaculate Njuthe(Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries) and Raymond Komen (Education, ICT and e-Government).

The other five appointees who will be vetted next week  are Dr Peter Evans Kiplang’at (Trade, Industry, Marketing and Tourism), Halima Gababa Abdulahi (Youth, Gender, Culture, Sports and social Services) and Engineer Festus Kipkoech Ng’eno (Water, Environment, Energy and Natural Resources).

Other CECs candidates who will be facing the vetting committee are Dr Jonah Manjari Mwangi (Health services) and Joseph Wainaina Kiuna (Finance and Economic Planning).

The Appointments Committee of the Nakuru County Assembly led by Speaker Maina Kairu, is the one tasked to vet the CECs with each of the CeCs allocated one hour to face the committee.
