Speaking over the weekend during a community forum at Bondeni estate, Nakuru, Chief Timothy Kitetu condemned youths whom he said are fond of chewing Miraa without any constructive work.

"I wonder if a normal youth age 18 and above can sit from morning to evening chewing miraa without engaging in a constructive work,"he said.

The local administrator went ahead to condemn the youths for not struggling to get some form of employment but rather idling around.

However, his sentiments did not go well with a section of youths in the area who questioned why the local administrator was rebuking them for chewing miraa.

"We have been here since time memorial chewing miraa and none of us engages in crime so why is our chief condemning us?" a youth said.

In one voice, the youths called on the area chief to consider security issues and not engage the youths in conflicting issues.
