Komen said that several issues, among them differences in politics between him and several county government officials, led to the governor sending him packing.

"Other than the outright and open campaign by Solai MCA, Mr Chebor to get me removed from office and of which I really have no hard feelings about, the underlying issues that led to my fall out with KM and Deputy Governor include my decision to block the transfer of the 1.3 Billion Rongai Trauma Hospital project from Salgaa to the Nakuru PGH,” Komen said.

Komen said his association with Salgaa residents has also led to his sacking.
