Speaking on Friday at Kiamaina Shopping Center, Bahati Ward during a public meeting, Kariuki urged youths to desist from indulging in crimes.

“Do not indulge yourselves in drugs and other activities which will ruin your life,” said Kariuki.

He urged youths to apply for government-funded loans if they want to change their lives.

“The government has shown interest in the lives of youths by creating opportunities intended to uplift young peoples’ lives,” said Kariuki.

He said that his office is open to help local youth in filling forms and offering technical assistance to those willing to apply for youth loans.

“Youths are free to consult or seek for assistance they may need from me,” said Kariuki.

He denied claims that his office has been an obstacle in helping youths.

“ The Chief's office is instrumental in shaping the destiny of youth and those accusing me of denying youth a chance to access loans are misleading,” said Kariuki.

The administrator noted that with youth involvement in nation building, incidences of crimes are likely to drop.

“ We want each youth to contribute to the development of nation,” said Kariuki
