Led by Bishop Jackson Maina, the leaders said time has come for Uhuru to give direction on the protracted battle between the IEBC commissioners and Cord.

“Time has come for the President give a one-off stand concerning these protests because he has to put Cord in their place. We cannot have Cord protesting every week on the same issue,” said the bishop who spoke at Victory Chapel in Nakuru on Sunday.

He maintained that stern action should be taken against the Cord leaders before things get out of hand.

“There are clear channels spelt out in the Constitution and that is what they have to follow, not protests,” he said.

He also condemned the National Council of Churches in Kenya over its stand regarding the IEBC stand-off stating they never consult all stakeholders especially the registered churches; their stand is does not hold the views of all churches in the country.

President Uhuru has maintained that there will be no shortcut in the removal of the IEBC commissioners and asked Cord leaders to adhere to the constitution.

He said for the commissioners to be removed from office, a petition on the same must be tabled and debated in the National Parliament where MPs will decide on their fate..
