The Nakuru Pentecostal Church has donated items to prisoners at the GK main prison in Nakuru town.
Senior pastor Joseph Nzavi led a group of church followers to the prison to donate food, clothes and sanitary towels all valued at Sh100,000.
Pastor Nzavi said the church will strengthen its partnership with the prison to assist the government transform the convicts and make them acceptable in the society after completing their jail terms.
The officer in charge of the prison Franklin Wambua received the items thanking the church for the effort.
"I want to thank the church for remembering the convicts and accepting them as members of the society. The institution will work with the church to improve the standards of life in prison," said Wambua.
Pastor Nzavi said the convicts need a transformation spirit, so that they can repent and become good citizens by the end of their jail term.
He said the church will continue working with the prison and it is ready to assist where possible.
The pastor and the management of prison will arrange so that prisoners are taken to church at least twice a month.
