Nakuru Council of Elders now want politicians to shun decisive during the electioneering period.
Led by Bishop Peter Njenga, they said divisive politics was likely to plunge the country into chaos, similar to those witnessed in 2007 elections.
On scandals surrounding the Jubilee government, the elders challenged constitutionally mandated department to investigate and make the findings public for further scrutiny.
“The issues raised on graft should be addressed to investigative authorities. We do not have to politicise everything because at the end of the day Kenyans need to know the truth” he said.
The elders vowed to continue preaching peace ahead of the 2017 general elections and challenged politicians to join them for the sake of stabilizing the country.
They also commended the President for appointing Susan Kihika among the presidential campaign team.
