The sponsor of the bill Gilgil Ward MCA, Jane Wangui, said that the bill will ensure that the workers are paid on time as well as ensure transparency in the handling of county funds.

"We do not want a situation whereby our county casual workers' salaries are delayed for months. We want them to be paid on time just like other county employees. These are the people who work very hard and even prone to more risks,” said Wangui who was speaking to journalist outside the assembly after the bill was passed.

Speaking at the same time County Assembly Implementation Committee Chairman, Wanyoike Wanango, said that his committee will ensure that the law is implemented to the letter.

"Once the bill is signed into law I and my committee will ensure that everything is implemented and whoever will play around with the workers' money will go home,” said Wanango, Lakeview MCA.

Wanango blamed the workers' problems on county executives whom he claimed to be failing the governor.
