Nakuru County government has been faulted for failing to register the Bondeni community dispensary that falls within its territory.
The facility's board chairman Francis Shinali in an exclusive interview on Tuesday said the facility had been trying to provide the quality services required despite the challenges experienced.
He added that the county government had received a letter from the board requiring them to register the facility so that it could benefit from funding by the government but nothing had come of it so far.
"This facility is trying so much but I am calling upon the county government to register it so that it can run its services in the community. We have (also) written to the county's Ministry of Health over this issue but no response has come so far," said Shinali.
He said health was a devolved function and therefore all the community dispensaries should be registered with counties to enable funding and quality services.
His sentiments come after a section of residents complained of poor services and state of the dispensary.
When reached on phone, Health CEC Dr Mungai Kabii said the matter was in control and would be sorted out.
