Nakuru County Governor, Kinuthia Mbugua has sent a warning to corrupt and non-performing county executives saying that there was no room for inefficiency in his government.
Speaking at the county headquarters on Friday during a handing over session of his new cabinet after a reshuffle on Wednesday, Mbugua asked the executives to strive in attaining visible goals in their new departments.
“I have entrusted you to drive my development agenda, so get down working to make a direct impact in your new dockets,” he said.
“Let’s maintain professionalism and high levels of integrity as we deliver our responsibilities to the people of this nation,” he added.
The governor did a major reshuffle to his cabinet amid accusations of nepotism, favouritism, corruption and poor performance by a section of leaders from the county.
It is remembered that one of Mbugua’s cabinet executive in the trade, tourism and industrialisation Sam Gitau was forced to step aside to pave way for investigations mid last year after some of his academic credentials were questioned by the County’s public service board.
“Everybody is watching, be diligent in service delivery to help improve the lives of the locals,” he advised.
In Mbugua’s new look cabinet, Francis Mathea occupies the Education, Youths, sports and Culture ministry, Eddie Kimani take charge as the Director of Communication as the Public Service management is taken over by Prof Catherine Kitetu.
Anne Njenga was seen as the overloaded executive after being handed the Trade, industrialisation, tourism and wildlife ministry at the same time doubling up as the minister of finance, economic and planning in acting capacity.
